I haven't ordered one, but I did take a test drive in one last Sunday at the Lincoln Experience Center. It was a Black Label edition with the Chalet Theme and the 400 hp twin turbo V6. It was awesome to say the least. More power than anyone really needs, super smooth and quiet, and the Revel sound system is to die for. It actually seems to handle better than my 2015 MKZ. Can't seem to price one out with the options I'd like for less than $61,000. If I ordered everything that I'd really like to have, it would come in at about $71,000. I'll definitely have to wait till at least 2019 to get one. Still loving my MKZ.

Other than the seats, that's exactly what I would order. Congrats man!

Well, I'd add the twin panel sunroof. I have it my MKS and don't know if I can do without!

I like it in the MKS, too, but the Continental version is a huge step backward in my opinion.

First of all, it barely vents - maybe 1/2 inch. Secondly, when open, it goes up and over the back part instead of tucking neatly between the roof and headliner like the MKS. It doesn't open very far, either. When open, it sticks up and reminds me of the wing on an outlaw sprint car.

It is a $1750 option and I decided I would rather have the $1500 perfect position seats. I had a specific price point that I wanted to stay within.

You're right, that looks kind of.....

Well, I may have to re-think that then. I haven't seen one up close yet. Neither Lincoln dealer within half an hour of me have one yet. They have both said that they have one on order and that they don't know where it is yet.

If you just enjoy a glass roof with the sunshade rolled back, it would be fine. I just decided it wasn't worth $1750.

My understanding is that there are many early builds being held for the headlight fix. The all out marketing campaign will begin in November after dealers have cars in stock. They are saying that the car I ordered this week should arrive around Christmas time but I am not holding them to that.

I use my sunroof on my MKS all the time! If it's cold out, I'll have it open with the seats turned on! LOL.

Not sold on that sunroof opening like that. I remember looking at Focus' back in 2000 and the sunroof on those open like a sprint car wing like you said and we bought one without it because of the looks.

You have any reservations on ordering a first year model?

I would have had reservations if I had ordered back in May and gotten one of the first ones.    Now that they have built a couple of thousand or so, I have no reservations.   I have carefully examined 4 different ones now and test driven 3 of them.  The quality appears to be excellent.  Some of the early ones needed the trunk lid adjusted to make the tail light chrome line up perfectly but that has now been corrected.  Interior fit/finish is excellent.

There is always something a little better coming.  Heads up display will be available a bit later.  Also, the Lincoln star on the grill will be illuminated on later builds but I am not sure when.  Neither of those things are important to me.  Eventually, the 9 speed automatic will make its way to the Continental but that is at least a year or more away.

I'm probably at least a year away if not 2 years as of now. Fiancé and I just closed on a house, I'm pushing her to get a vehicle now, her '04 Explorer is really starting to rust but she wants to hold out til next year. so, we'll see.

I just really need to see one before I think about getting one.

I went and looked at a Reserve, Velvet Black with the Jade interior. 3.0 AWD, twin panel sunroof, 30 way seats.....

Didn't drive it, just sat in it and looked around. I thought it would have a little more room that it did. Over-all, not sure I'd spend $65K

Wow, this forum is deader than the MKS forum.  With all of the reviews out there, I thought there would be more discussion.  I wonder if this apparent lack of interest means that sales of the Conti will be as bad as the MKS.

What I can't figure out is the lack of push by Lincoln on the Continental. The Lincoln website is still pushing the MKZ and, unless I'm blind, I haven't seen a TV commercial yet.

Or is it just me???

There will be a Marketing campaign soon. They are waiting for all dealers to have stock and for the cars at Flat Rock to have the headlight fixes done.

I did go look at a Ruby Red, Cappuccino interior, Reserve on Saturday. I admit that it caught my eye more than the Black Velvet, Jade interior that I looked at last week.

I was going to get white platinum until I looked at one. It just didn't "pop" for me. The Conti is a very conservative design. I felt that it needed a more expressive color.

Do you know when yours will be in?

I've only looked at 2 and haven't driven either one. I have this terrible habit of buying something if I drive it and I promised the wife that she gets a vehicle next.

Now, if I could talk her into taking my MKS...... That won't work, she's got her heart set on an F-150

I have a VIN and the tentative build date is the last week of November. Dealer says if it passes the quality checks and is OK to ship, I should have it by Christmas.

The factory workers will probably be so full of Thanksgiving turkey when the build it that they will screw it up and I will have to start all over again.
