Does anyone know when the Continental will change to an 8 speed transmission? Job2 2018, or 2019?

I really have no idea but it is coming in 2019 to several other Ford/Lincoln models.   I would like to know the specs on it - how much torque they say it will handle.  The fact that they will be using it on 2019 Nautilus with the 2.7 twin turbo is a good sign that it is fairly robust and would be appropriate for the Conti.

Only guessing, but I wouldn't expect before the 2019 models - if then.   I have heard some talk of it rolling out slowly due to production limitations.  It makes sense that they would equip the more popular models with it first - like the Nautilus and Edge.    Also, those models are getting mid-cycle refreshes in 2019, anyway.

Ford seems to be lagging in a number of areas lately.... :(

It's interesting that Ford already offers the 10 speed in the Mustang and F-150. Doubt that will make it to the Lincoln side though.

The 10 speed is a rear wheel drive transmission only so it wouldn't work in the Conti.

I *think* they are planning on making it a JOB2 program.  Things change though.

I traded my 2012 Grabber Blue Mustang GT convertible on a 2018 Lightning Blue GT convertible two weeks ago, so getting used to 460 HP and the 10-Speed automatic now. So far, seems to be a great transmission.

I have a 2016 Mustang GT with a manual.  It is fun to drive but I would love to have a new one with the 10 speed auto.

I haven't even crossed 500 miles yet, but have noticed one strange thing. In "Normal" mode, it usually skips 2nd, and just goes from 1St to 3rd, but every other gear is used. I have seen it hit 2nd about twice in Normal. When using the next mode, "Sport+", it always does go into 2nd gear, but I haven't seen it go to higher than 8th, but haven't had it at higher speeds to see if it does go through all 10 gears yet. So many modes to check out yet. Don't want to push it too hard just yet, but it is a "beast" for sure.

PS, if you know anyone looking for a perfect 2012 GT convertible with only 8,000 original miles, stored winters, it was, traded in at Metro Ford in Madison, Wi. So far, they haven't posted photos of it, but it is listed.
